Tavria front update: Equipment and over 500 Russians eliminated
Over the past day, Ukrainian troops eliminated over 500 more Russian occupants in the Tavria direction. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 15 pieces of enemy military equipment, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
In total, the Russians carried out 17 air strikes and 1 missile attack in the Tavria direction, conducted 61 combat engagements, and fired 1056 artillery rounds.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers.
Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 22 enemy attacks east of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, and Avdiivka, as well as 13 attacks in the vicinity of Pervomaisk, Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 15 attacks.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks west of Verbove and south of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.
At the same time, in the Melitopol direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line.
Russia's losses
The total losses of the enemy amounted to 528 Russians.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 15 pieces of military equipment, including:
- 1 tank;
- 4 armored personnel carriers;
- 2 artillery systems;
- 2 UAVs;
- 4 vehicles;
- 2 units of special equipment.
In addition, another 14 units of enemy equipment were damaged.
The situation at the front
According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops maintain a presence on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, despite the pressure of the Russians. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 30 Russian attempts to dislodge them from these positions.
Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Friday morning, December 22, amounted to 1080 occupants. The total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion is approximately 351,350. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 9 tanks, 18 armored personnel carriers, and 24 enemy artillery systems.
