Tavria front update: Equipment and over 400 Russians destroyed

In total, Russian occupants carried out 5 air strikes in the Tavria direction, engaged in 60 combat engagements, and fired 981 artillery rounds.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka.

Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russians. Thus, 26 enemy attacks were repelled east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka, and another 9 attacks south of Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repelled 13 enemy attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 12 enemy attacks west of Novopokrovka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time, in the Melitopol direction, our servicemen and servicewomen continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupation forces, depleting the enemy along the entire front line.

Russia's losses

The total enemy losses amounted to 461 Russians.

Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 25 pieces of Russian military equipment, including:

• 4 tanks;
• 13 armored personnel carriers;
• 2 artillery systems;
• 2 anti-tank grenade launchers;
• 4 vehicles.

In addition, another 10 units of enemy equipment were damaged.

Situation at the front

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the Zaporizhzhia direction and are exhausting the enemy in the Melitopol direction Missile forces hit 4 enemy ammunition depots.

Also, according to the report of the Institute for War Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled Russian attacks in the area of Avdiivka itself, as well as to the northwest, southwest, and directly west of Avdiivka. Ukrainian troops may have withdrawn to more defensible positions closer to Robotyne.

Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of the morning of Wednesday, December 20, amounted to 890 occupants, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to approximately 349,190. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 16 tanks, 23 armored personnel carriers, and 16 enemy artillery systems.
