Tavria front update: Equipment and near 400 Russians destroyed
Ukrainian troops eliminated almost 400 more Russian occupiers in the Tavria direction over the last day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 42 units of enemy military equipment, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
In total, the enemy carried out 25 air strikes in the Tavria direction, conducted 42 combat engagements, and fired 705 artillery rounds.
The threat of the enemy using missile weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against military and civilian infrastructure remains high.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka.
Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Thus, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and Severne and 13 more attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the last day.
In the Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repelled 15 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled an enemy attack near Staromayorsk, Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian attacks west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.
Enemy losses
The total losses of the Russian army amounted to 391 occupiers.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 42 pieces of enemy military equipment, including:
- 2 tanks;
- 10 armored personnel carriers;
- 4 artillery systems;
- 1 MLRS;
- 1 anti-tank grenade launcher;
- 17 UAVs;
- 7 vehicles.
The situation at the frontline
Ukrainian troops continue to expand their foothold in the Kherson direction and hold back the enemy in the Donetsk region. Over the past day, 77 combat engagements took place.
In addition, as the Institute for War Studies writes in its report, Ukrainian and Russian troops are engaged in heavy positional fighting along the entire front line. The invaders continue to send military supplies to the occupied Crimea.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Wednesday morning, January 10, amounted to 800 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 366,790. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 11 drones, 12 artillery systems, and 13 armored personnel carriers.
