Throughout January 17, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 57 units of Russian military equipment in the Tavria direction, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.

During the day, the enemy:

  • carried out 41 air strikes;
  • conducted 38 combat engagements;
  • made 924 artillery rounds.

"The enemy started actively using armored vehicles to support and land infantry again. The enemy lost 41 armored vehicles, including 17 tanks, in three days," says Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of Troops.

Avdiivka direction

Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, and Avdiivka and another 14 attacks near Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the last day.

Maryinka direction

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 10 attacks were repelled.

Shakhtarsk direction

The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled an enemy attack north of Novodonetske in the Donetsk region.

Zaporizhzhia direction

The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.

Achievements of Ukrainian soldiers

Our military eliminated 385 Russian troops and destroyed 57 units of enemy military equipment, including:

  • 4 tanks;
  • 12 armored personnel carriers;
  • 6 artillery systems;
  • 14 UAVs;
  • 13 vehicles;
  • 8 units of special equipment.

"The Ukrainian defense forces destroyed 3 ammunition depots and 2 other important enemy targets," the press service adds.

Russia's losses in war against Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, January 17, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 800 Russian occupiers. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost 367,600 troops.
