Taganrog rocked by drone strikes overnight, Russian reactions pour in

On the night of August 1, powerful explosions were heard in the Russian city of Taganrog - likely the result of a drone attack, according to Russian Telegram channels.
According to reports, drones attacked Taganrog, located in Russia’s Rostov region, during the night of August 1. Eyewitnesses said they heard at least ten explosions in the sky above the city.
It was also reported that not only air defense systems but combat helicopters were active in the air.
The mayor of Taganrog, Svetlana Kambulova, confirmed the operation of the air defense systems but did not provide further details.
Official regional authorities and Russian military have yet to comment on the scale of the attack or its consequences.
Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) reported complaints from Russians about their air defense systems.
Ukrainian drones attack Russian territory every night. The main targets are Russian logistics and defense industry enterprises supporting the war effort. On July 31, drones attacked a radio factory in Penza, Russia, which specializes in producing modern communication equipment for the Russian armed forces.
