Türkiye calls in Ukraine's ambassador over attacks on two Black Sea vessels

Türkiye summoned Ukraine's ambassador to Ankara, Naryman Dzhelialov, to the Foreign Ministry over attacks on two Turkish vessels in the Black Sea, according to Anadolu and other media outlets.
Sources in Türkiye's Foreign Ministry said the first incident involved the Lider Bordo Mavi, a vessel carrying vegetables from Samsun to the Russian city of Tuapse. On August 26, it was attacked by three drones. Five crew members were injured in the attack.
The Lider Kocatepe was later sent to tow the vessel, but it too came under attack.
"During the meeting (with the ambassador – ed.), Türkiye's reaction to the aforementioned attacks was conveyed, along with necessary warnings that ensuring the safety of life and property, maritime navigation, and the environment in the Black Sea is mandatory," Anadolu reported.

As previously reported, several weeks ago, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Ankara had called on Ukraine and Russia to impose a moratorium on attacks against commercial vessels in the Black Sea. He stressed that the sides were attacking commercial ships indiscriminately.
Also, according to Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk, Russia is suffering significantly heavier losses than Ukraine in the confrontation in the Black Sea.
