Türkiye bans export of military-linked goods to Russia under US pressure - FT
Türkiye has banned the export of military-linked goods to Russia after a warning from the United States, according to the Financial Times.
As the agency reported, Türkiye recently imposed a ban on exporting over 40 categories of US-origin goods, including microchips and remote control systems, as well as other items from a list of 50 high-priority goods compiled by the US, the UK, the EU, and Japan.
The list also includes advanced electronics, processors, memory cards, machine tools, and other equipment used in weapon production.
According to the media, Türkiye's customs system currently blocks the export of these goods to Russia, although such shipments were previously possible.
US Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matthew Axelrod told reporters that the United States believes the Turkish government has heard and understood their concerns. The US is optimistic about strengthening cooperation in the future, the official added.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Türkiye had imposed anti-dumping duties on certain steel imports from four countries, including Russia.
This decision comes amid rising trade tensions between China and the European Union over tariffs on electric vehicles, brandy, and other products.
