Szijjártó makes new statement about war in Ukraine in Uzhhorod
During a visit to the largest urban cemetery in Uzhhorod, Calvary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, called for an end to the war between Ukraine and Russia, according to the Facebook page of the Hungarian Foreign Minister.
Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President, recounts that in the morning, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba and his Hungarian counterpart, they paid tribute to the memory of those who gave their lives defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. They also visited the graves of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers of Hungarian descent.
"More and more casualties on the battlefield, we must not allow more lives to be lost! The war must end, human lives can only be saved through peace," wrote Szijjártó.

On January 11, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs announced his visit to Uzhhorod and a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba. At that time, he also stated that the talks would concern the preparation for the meeting between Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.
Today, on January 29, Szijjártó arrived in Uzhhorod, where he met with Andriy Yermak and Dmytro Kuleba. According to the head of the Office of the President, the negotiations will focus on the normalization of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations.
