Ukraine's defense forces struck the Syzran oil refinery and a number of other Russian occupier targets on the night of December 28, according to the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"As part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, on the night of December 28 units of Ukraine's defense forces struck the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region," the statement said.

Hits by strike drones on the refinery's territory were recorded, followed by a fire. The extent of the damage is being clarified.

As noted by the General Staff, the facility's annual processing capacity ranges from 7 to 8.9 million tons of oil. In addition, the Syzran oil refinery is part of Russia's energy rear and is involved in supplying the aggressor’s armed forces.

In addition, Ukraine's defense forces successfully struck:

  • a storage and maintenance site for uncrewed boats in the area of Chornomorske (temporarily occupied territory of Crimea);

  • a repair unit of the 1435th Motorized Rifle Regiment near the settlement of Antratsyt (temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region);

  • a pontoon crossing near Nikonorivka;

  • a Shahed-type drone storage facility in Makiivka, Donetsk region.

Enemy losses are being clarified.

The results of a recent strike on the LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil products processing plant in Russia’s Volgograd region have also been confirmed: a petroleum products pipeline and a technological unit for oil production were damaged.

Attacks on Russian territory

Earlier, we reported that during the daytime on December 25, Russia's Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery once again came under attack. Up to 10 explosions were heard at the facility, followed by a large fire. One of Russia’s largest oil refineries was put out of operation.

It is also known that long-range drones operated by the Alpha Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine successfully struck two key oil and gas sector facilities in Russia, in the port of Temryuk and in Orenburg.

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Ukraine’s defense forces struck the seaport of Temryuk, the Maykop airfield, and a repair unit of Russian troops.

In addition, on the night of December 24, the defense forces struck a missile fuel production plant in Russia, as well as a base of maritime drones and ammunition depots.
