Syrskyi has carte blanche to reshuffle Armed Forces - Zelenskyy
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has been given carte blanche to reshuffle the army, states Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Every day, the chief and commanders are at the front, exactly where they need to be. The Commander-in-Chief has carte blanche to make any personnel changes in the army and in the headquarters. All Ukrainian commanders must know the frontline, feel the frontline, its real needs. They must actually be with soldiers and sergeants. They must be what they need to be in order to achieve Ukrainian goals," the head of state emphasized.
Zelenskyy added that after Syrskyi returns from the front at the beginning of the week, he expects him to provide a detailed report and specific proposals for "further changes and our actions."
"Everyone who works for the state must be in the state, for the state, and take care of the state. Of the common interests, not personal ones. Personal interests are for after the war," the president also said.
Syrskyi's visit to the frontline
At the end of February, Commander Syrskyi went to the frontline with an audit, in particular, to the Avdiivka and Kurakhiv areas. During his trip to the units, Syrskyi revealed the mistakes of commanders in defense.
According to the Armed Forces chief, his main task is to effectively use the combat capabilities of weapons and equipment, as well as to hold positions and restore the lost ground.
In addition, today Syrskyi announced personnel changes among commanders in certain combat brigades to preserve the lives and health of Ukrainian soldiers.
