Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting with the Chair of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Rob Bauer. One of the topics discussed was the main needs of Ukrainian defenders, according to Syrskyi.

He informed Bauer about the situation on the battlefield.

"We discussed the main needs of the Ukrainian defense forces. Key priorities are ammunition and air defense," the general added.

He thanked NATO colleagues for their comprehensive and consistent support for Ukraine.

After the meeting, the participants paid tribute near the Memorial Wall to soldiers who died for Ukraine.

Ammunition for Ukraine

One of the main needs for Ukrainian defenders now is artillery shells. The shortage of these shells has led to the loss of several settlements since the beginning of 2024, including Avdiivka.

Last month, Czech President Petr Pavel announced that his country had found 800,000 shells outside the European Union that could be transferred to Ukraine. This requires funding.

Several Western countries have already allocated funds for this initiative. As Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal mentioned yesterday, the first shells under the Czech initiative will be received in April.

Today, March 21, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced that his country would help deliver shells to Ukraine, which were purchased under the Czech initiative.
