Swiss colonel in OSCE delegation exposed for spying for Russia, reports say

A member of the Swiss delegation to the OSCE could have passed unknown data to Russia on his own initiative. He was recalled to Switzerland, reports SRF.
The man at the center of the scandal is a high-ranking representative of the Swiss Ministry of Defense: a colonel with more than 20 years of service who previously held important positions abroad.
Until the middle of last year, he worked in Vienna, representing Switzerland in the delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
However, he has been forced to stay in Switzerland for more than six months.
Several SRF sources claim that he was recalled to Switzerland as a punishment because in the summer of 2024 he passed on certain information to Russia.
The Swiss Ministry of Defense told reporters that it was aware of the accusations, and therefore, the employee was recalled to Switzerland at the end of 2024.
Unnamed Swiss officials criticized the "harsh decision", claiming that it was only one incident. According to them, the colonel handed over the document to the Russian delegation, and in a few hours, it allegedly became available to all OSCE members.
According to the Swiss Ministry of Defense, the military justice has launched an investigation. Details of the case remain secret.
Russia's spy in Switzerland
Last year, Swiss Info wrote that a Russian diplomat in Switzerland could be a spy. He is suspected of being a spy to purchase weapons.
