If you're looking for a healthy alternative to store-bought sweets for your family, this recipe for homemade pumpkin marmalade will be a real find. These bright, chewy, and fragrant candies are so tasty that kids will never guess how healthy they really are. Ukrainian cook Jane Lubowitz shared the recipe for these healthy treats on Facebook.

What you'll need:

  • Pumpkin flesh – 350 g
  • Gelatin – 30 g
  • Sugar (or substitute) – to taste
  • Citric acid – a pinch on the tip of a teaspoon
  • Vanillin – for aroma
  • Cold water for soaking the gelatin

Step-by-step process:

Cook the pumpkin flesh until soft. It is better to bake it in the oven or to steam it. The main thing is that it can be easily turned into a puree.

While the pumpkin is cooking, pour cold water over the gelatin in a small bowl and leave it to swell.

Blend the soft pumpkin flesh into a smooth puree. Add sugar to taste, a pinch of citric acid for a pleasant tartness, and a little vanillin. Mix everything thoroughly.

Gently heat the swollen gelatin (without boiling!) until the granules dissolve completely. Pour the liquid gelatin into the warm pumpkin puree and whisk.

Let the mixture cool slightly. While still warm, pour it into silicone molds (candy or ice cube molds will work). Put in the refrigerator for a few hours until fully set.

Once the marmalade has set, carefully remove it from the molds. Enjoy this tasty and healthy homemade dessert!
