The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Russian Ambassador Sergey Belyaev in response to Russia’s strikes on civilian cities in Ukraine, stated Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard on X.

"Today, we summoned Russia's Ambassador to Sweden in view of Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine and attacks against Ukrainian cities and civilians. These are not the acts of a country that seeks peace," she emphasized.

She added that the Swedish government is calling on Russia to immediately withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory. Stenergard also assured that Sweden is committed to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and will support the country for as long as needed.

It is worth noting that yesterday, April 14, Lithuania also summoned the Russian ambassador. Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that those responsible for attacks on Ukrainian civilian cities will not escape justice.

Strikes on Sumy and Kryvyi Rih

On April 4, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kryvyi Rih. The missile exploded in the middle of a residential area, killing 19 people, including nine children.

On Sunday, April 13, Russian forces attacked Sumy with two ballistic missiles. In the city center, 35 people were killed, including an 11-year-old boy.
