Support for Ukraine must remain unwavering until fair peace - Greek President
Western countries should continue to support Ukraine in its war with Russia until a fair and enduring peace is achieved, according to Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The head of state emphasized that Russian aggression not only violates the UN Charter and international law but also “remains a serious threat to European security and global stability.”
She welcomed the swift and unified response of the EU to Moscow's actions and emphasized Greece's participation in these collective efforts.
According to Sakellaropoulou, support for Ukraine should be maintained until a comprehensive, fair, and enduring peace is achieved, respecting the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Assistance from Greece
Greece has been an ally of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
Recently, the media reported that the Greek government may transfer up to 32 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, which are to be decommissioned.
Journalists also reported that Greece is considering the possibility of providing Ukraine with S-300 air defense systems. This possibility arose after the missile strike by the Russian Federation on Odesa during the visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
