Homemade citrus jam offers a bright flavor, natural ingredients, and an aroma you won't find in store-bought versions. Lemons and oranges pair perfectly, creating a thick, sunny jam that tastes wonderful with toast, pastries, or warm tea. Here is a recipe for a jam that will outshine anything you can buy in the store.

Ingredients:

  • 3 oranges
  • 2 lemons
  • 800 g sugar
  • 200 ml water

How to make lemon and orange jam

Wash the citrus fruits. If desired, pour boiling water over them. Chop them together with the peel, as it adds aroma and natural pectin.

Mix the ingredients. Transfer the mixture to a pot, then add the water and sugar.

Cook. Simmer over low heat, stirring until the jam thickens. This takes about 40-60 minutes. Pour into jars. Pour the hot jam into jars. If you wish, you can seal them, but you can also keep the jars in the refrigerator.

The jam turns out thick, aromatic, and rich. If desired, add ginger, vanilla, or a pinch of cinnamon for an even more wintery, festive flavor.

During the cold season, this jam not only makes a wonderful addition to breakfast but also helps support your immune system. And it brings a touch of summer hidden in a jar, even on the gloomiest day.
