Russian forces struck the residential sector of the city of Sumy, damaging buildings, according to Serhii Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration.

“Around 4:20 a.m. Kyiv time, the enemy struck with a preliminary guided aerial bomb in the residential sector of the Stetskivskyi starosta district,” the message states.

As a result of the attack, residential buildings were damaged, though the number of affected buildings and the extent of the damage have not been specified.

The City Military Administration warned of possible disruptions to electricity and gas supplies.

According to preliminary information from local authorities, there were no casualties.

An air raid alert was announced several times in various districts of the Sumy region during the night of September 26 due to the launch of enemy drones. This included the Shostka, Romny, Konotop, Okhtyrka, and Sumy districts.

Drone attacks on targets in Sumy

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, on September 25, Russian forces struck Sumy with drones, resulting in a total of four explosions in the city.

According to preliminary information, the enemy used Italmas drones. Two of them hit the territory of a private enterprise, one struck a residential area, and another exploded near a municipal enterprise of the Sumy City Council. In the residential area, 27 windows were reportedly shattered.

Additionally, on the night of September 22, a series of explosions occurred in Sumy following an attack by kamikaze drones. Two drones hit industrial facilities, and another struck a school building.
