A suicide bomber carried out an attack at a railway station in southwestern Pakistan on Saturday, November 9, leaving at least 25 people dead, reports CNN.

According to police, the explosion occurred on the platform of the main railway station in Quetta around 9 a.m. local time. At the time of the attack, numerous passengers were waiting for a train to Rawalpindi, the capital of Balochistan province.

The attack left at least 25 people dead and injured another 53. Among the casualties were passengers, railway workers, and security personnel.

Pakistani security forces have cordoned off the area, and an investigation is underway.

The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack.

Balochistan is a region divided among Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. The Balochistan Liberation Army is an armed group advocating for the region’s independence.

In related news, at the end of October, a truck rammed into a bus stop near Israel’s capital, injuring several people, in what police suspect may have been a terrorist attack.

Additionally, on October 23, a terrorist attack occurred at the TUSAŞ defense facility in Türkiye, leaving five dead and over 20 injured. The Kurdistan Workers’ Party claimed responsibility for that attack.
