Ukraine's Foreign Ministry calls for an end to violence and accountability for those responsible amid reports of Rapid Support Forces' control over El Fasher and attacks on civilians.

"According to information circulating in the media and on social networks, in recent days, Sudan's Rapid Support Forces have established control over the city of El Fasher, the administrative center of North Darfur province, where they are committing horrific acts of violence against civilians that could be considered war crimes," the Ministry says.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry called on the parties to the armed conflict in the Republic of Sudan, as well as the international community, to take all possible measures to stop the bloodshed and violence, bring to justice those who commit crimes against civilians, and prevent further aggravation of the catastrophic humanitarian situation.

"Ukraine opposes any attempts to fragment the Republic of Sudan and its state institutions. The Sudanese people have an inalienable right to live in peace and security," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry adds.

At the same time, the Ministry confirms Ukraine's unwavering position in support of the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan and the development of its democratic and prosperous society.

"This is not only in the interests of the Sudanese people, but will also contribute to strengthening peace, security, and stability throughout the African continent," the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine concludes.

Threats in Sudan

According to The Guardian, hundreds of civilians in the city of El Fasher were shot dead recently after the town came under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary forces.

The agency reports on the deaths of patients and medical staff at a local hospital. It also notes that unarmed men of draft age were shot at point-blank range, and those who tried to escape were robbed. The militants filmed some of the violence on video.

Ukrainians abroad

The situation is currently dangerous not only in Sudan. Recently, Ukrainians in Tanzania were asked to be vigilant due to protests in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mbeya, and Moshi.

Citizens are advised to avoid mass events, limit their movements around the city, and follow all recommendations from local authorities.
