In Tatarstan, another hit was recorded at one of Russia's largest oil refineries, Taneco. This is not the first attack on the strategic enterprise, informs the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko.

“Taneco is one of the largest and most modern refineries in Russia, with a refining capacity of over 16 million tons of oil per year,” explained Kovalenko.

He said that the refinery plays a key role in providing fuel to the Russian army.

“Knocking out refineries and oil depots directly affects Russia's ability to wage an intense war,” he emphasized.

At the same time, Kovalenko mentioned that the previous drone attack on the refinery in the spring of 2024 damaged the primary processing unit at the plant.

According to RBC Ukraine, the night attack on April 2 on the refinery in Tatarstan was a joint operation of the Ukrainian Intelligence and Security Service.

A long-range drone attacked the primary oil refining unit at the refinery in Nizhnekamsk, which caused a fire. Then, in addition to the refinery in Tatarstan, the Shahed assembly plant was also damaged.

Today, January 11, the Russian oil refinery Taneco caught fire again in Tatarstan.

The incident occurred in the city of Nizhnekamsk amid the threat of a drone attack.
