President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama. They discussed the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and more, according to the president's Telegram channel.

What was discussed

  • Zelenskyy thanked Albania for its clear position regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and its support for our country in the UN Security Council, including defense and political support.
  • They discussed preparations for the Global Peace Summit. According to the president, Ukraine counts on active support from its partners, including Albania.

"In addition, we discussed ways to deepen the dialogue between Ukraine and the Balkans and continue defense cooperation. I emphasized the importance of continuing and expanding programs to train Ukrainian servicemen with Albania's participation," the president wrote.

Albania's support

Albania is one of Ukraine's allies that supports our country in the face of Russian invasion.

As the president highlighted, Tirana not only expressed support in the UN Security Council but also provided comprehensive assistance. In September 2023, Albania signed a declaration in support of Ukraine's NATO accession.
