Starmer to discuss Ukraine war and more with Trump

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to discuss with US President Donald Trump the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine during a meeting scheduled for July 28, according to The Telegraph.
"At the talks in Scotland, Sir Keir will also discuss how to end the Russia-Ukraine war after Mr Trump turned on Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, in recent weeks," the report states.
Starmer will raise the issue of further assistance to Ukraine during the conversation.
Among other things, attention will also be given to the potential benefits that Britons and Americans may gain from the UK-US trade deal signed in May.
Additionally, the two sides will discuss further steps that could be taken to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Starmer's plans regarding Palestinian state
Earlier, Keir Starmer announced the need to recognize a Palestinian state, saying it should be one of the steps in a broader peace plan.
French President Emmanuel Macron has also not ruled out recognizing the independence of a Palestinian state.
These plans were condemned by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
According to Bloomberg, Starmer is facing pressure from within his government and from Macron regarding the recognition of a Palestinian state.
