Ukraine was restricted from the operation of Starlink’s military package at speeds exceeding 160 km/h, reports presidential adviser Serhii Beskrestnov.

How Starlink was restricted

An adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reported on the morning of October 14 that the operation of Starlink terminals had been restricted overnight.

The StarShield “military package” began losing connection at speeds exceeding 160 km/h (i.e., 100 miles per hour). A number of important missions were disrupted.

“Our defense forces did not receive any warning about this restriction, and this led to the disruption of a number of missions. It is obvious that this action cannot be a coincidence and is linked to the current political situation,” he wrote.

Speed limits of over 70–90 km/h have been in place for standard Starlink services since the introduction of whitelists.

As Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha previously stated during the Warsaw Security Forum, despite tensions in relations with Washington, the exchange of intelligence between Ukraine and the US continues.

Previously, Axios, citing a Ukrainian official, reported that during negotiations, US representatives threatened to halt the transfer of intelligence to Ukraine unless the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped striking Russian oil refineries.
