Spain wants to localize combat modules production in Ukraine

The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine and representatives of the Spanish company Escribano Mechanical and Engineering (EM&M) discussed the localization of equipment production in Ukraine.
According to Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, this cooperation will significantly improve Ukrainian military equipment, which will be a significant boost for Ukrainian combat units.
"I was pleased to hear about the interest of EM&M representatives in doing business in Ukraine and understanding the prospects for cooperation with the Ukrainian defense enterprise... Thank you for the substantive work and real steps towards cooperation. I am convinced that both sides will benefit from our cooperation," Smetanin said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities and conditions for localizing the maintenance and production of the remotely controlled tower modules at Ukrainian enterprises.
Guardian 30
The Guardian 30 remote-controlled turret module (RCTM) is a modern weapon system designed to ensure security on the battlefield and perform various tasks. These modules are equipped with automatic cannons, machine guns, and other means, which allow them to perform the functions of fire cover, reconnaissance, and surveillance.
Thanks to the remote control, the operator can safely control the module from a distance, which reduces the risk to personnel.
The Guardian 30 is highly maneuverable and adaptable, allowing it to be used in a variety of environments and for a variety of missions. The modules can be mounted on armored vehicles, ships, or used in stationary positions. The integration of modern technologies, such as visualization and control systems, makes these modules effective in combating modern threats on the battlefield.
Earlier, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced a new military aid package worth 1 billion euros to Ukraine in 2025. Spain also plans to create a special Ukrainian hub in Alicante.
