Spain to send Leopard tanks to Slovak-Ukrainian border
Spain will send a group of its military personnel along with equipment to Slovakia next year as part of efforts to deter Russia, according to ABC.
It is reported that in 2024, the Armed Forces of Spain will deploy a military contingent in Slovakia. This involves 600 soldiers who, as part of the NATO mission, are intended to reinforce the borders of the North Atlantic Alliance.
In addition to the 600 military personnel, Spain will deploy Leopard tanks, and helicopters to the Ukrainian border.
NATO is strengthening in response to Russia's aggression
Earlier, Germany and Lithuania signed a "roadmap" in Vilnius as the basis for deploying a Bundeswehr brigade in the country.
It was also reported that the North Atlantic Alliance has increased budgets for the year 2024, demonstrating the solidarity of Alliance members in overcoming common security challenges.
US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smith stated that the North Atlantic Alliance is not waiting for Russia to rebuild its armed forces after the defeat in Ukraine. The organization will provide its members and allies with everything they need for defense.
