Sources name Security Service colonel killed in Kyiv shooting

The name of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) colonel who was shot dead on July 10 in the morning in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv has become public. It is Ivan Voronych, according to RBC-Ukraine sources.
About the SBU colonel murder
Today, around 10:30 am (Kyiv time), shots were heard in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Patrol policemen, an investigative team, dog handlers, and the criminal investigation department arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found the body of a man with a gunshot wound.
Later, RBC-Ukraine learned that the victim was a colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine, sources confirmed.
Criminal proceedings have been opened over the murder. The case is classified under Article 348 of the Criminal Code (an attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer or serviceman), as the SBU press service informed RBC-Ukraine.
The SBU and the National Police are jointly conducting investigative and operational actions to establish the circumstances of the crime and detain the perpetrator.
Police continue to work at the scene of the shooting. The person who may be involved in the murder has not yet been identified. Measures are being taken to detain him.
The police also published a video from the scene.
This is the second shooting incident in Kyiv in recent days. On July 8, an unknown person shot a man in a car in the Desnianskyi district of the capital. The criminal approached the car, opened fire, and fled. The victim died on the spot. This crime is being investigated as a premeditated murder.
