Ukraine's Security Service colonel shot dead in Kyiv

On July 10, a shooting took place in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district. A colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was killed.

The Security Service and the National Police are taking measures to clarify all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, member of a public formation for the protection of public order, and the state border or a military serviceman).
Police continue to work at the scene of the shooting.
The person involved in the crime is being identified. Measures are being taken to detain him, police say.

Shooting in Kyiv
Today at 10:32 a.m. (Kyiv time) there was a shooting in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv.
Arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers found the body of a man with a gunshot wound.
Investigative teams of the district and main police departments, criminal investigation officers, dog handlers, and other services began working at the scene.
On July 8, police reported a murder in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv.
Law enforcement officers found out that an unknown person had approached a car parked on the street with a man inside, fired a weapon, and then fled. The victim died from the gunshot wound. The police opened a case of premeditated murder.
