US President Donald Trump promised response to attack on American Embassy in Saudi capital Riyadh, according to statement by Fox News correspondent.

According to her, after the attack, she spoke with the head of White House. Trump said that soon everyone will see "what the retaliation will be for the attack on the US embassy in Riyadh and for the US service members killed."

"He (Trump – ed.) also told me he doesn't think boots on the ground will be necessary," the journalist reported.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense reported that, as a result of two drones hitting the territory of the diplomatic mission, a small fire broke out. Building sustained minor damage.

After the incident, the US Embassy urged its citizens to remain in shelters in the cities of Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dhahran. Americans were also advised to refrain from non-essential travel to military facilities in the region.
