Slovak Prime Minister Fico meets Putin in Moscow
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has arrived in Moscow. He is currently meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin, according to Russian media.
In particular, the information about the Slovak prime minister's meeting with Putin was reported by Russian propagandist Zarubin. At the same time, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Fico's visit to Russia was planned several days ago.
The other day, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić also said in an interview that the Slovak prime minister was going to visit Moscow. His visit is allegedly related to the fact that Ukraine will stop transiting Russian gas to Europe starting January 1, 2025.
Termination of Russian gas transit through Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently said that Ukraine would not continue transiting Russian gas to Europe and would not allow Russia to earn additional billions on the blood of Ukrainians. He added that any country in the world that can get something cheap from Russia eventually becomes dependent on Russia.
He added that there is an alternative option. Transit is possible, but only if it is not Russian gas.
Yesterday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that his country was negotiating with Russia and Ukraine to maintain Russian gas supplies through our country. According to him, it is still unclear whether there will be an agreement on this.
“We are now trying a trick... what if the gas, by the time it enters the territory of Ukraine, will no longer be Russian, but will already belong to the buyers. Thus, the gas coming to Ukraine will no longer be Russian, but Hungarian,” he said.
