Slovak PM makes scandalous statement about Zelenskyy
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has openly called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy an enemy, accusing him of causing issues for Slovakia by halting the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, Dennik N reports.
Fico criticized Zelenskyy's suggestion to begin the transit of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, claiming that nothing is ready, and no project is being discussed.
He said that Zelenskyy was "blowing bubbles to avoid tough decisions".
"Our enemy is Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy created the problems we have. I don't like him because he harms Slovakia."
Fico also reiterated his threat to block a decision regarding aid to Ukraine. On January 30, he plans to discuss gas supply issues with the European Commission.
Fico’s threats
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has ramped up his rhetoric after Ukraine rejected his request to extend Russian gas transit beyond 2025.
In response, Fico has issued multiple threats, including cutting electricity exports to Ukraine and significantly reducing support for Ukrainian refugees currently residing in Slovakia due to the ongoing war.
