Six-year-old Ukrainian boy killed in car accident in Italy

In a hospital in the Italian city of Padua, a 6-year-old boy from Odesa, who fled the war to Italy with his mother a month ago, has died. Two days earlier, the child was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in the municipality of Santa Maria di Sala, near Venice, ANSA reports.
The boy, named Vladyslav, was taken in extremely serious condition to the intensive care unit of the children's clinic in Padua. Doctors fought for his life, but it was not possible to save him. The parents agreed to organ donation, making their final act of solidarity.
According to the investigation, a 25-year-old driver of a Fiat Panda did not notice when the mother and child began to cross the road. The impact was so strong that the boy was thrown dozens of meters. The mother was unharmed but witnessed the tragedy. The family lived in a shelter for Ukrainian refugees near Padua, while the father worked in Germany.
The Venice prosecutor's office opened a case, and the driver is under investigation.
In July, after four days of searching in the tourist town of Carovigno in southern Italy, the body of 18-year-old Ukrainian student Maria Bugaiova was found.
According to preliminary data, the girl took her own life by hanging herself on a tree near the settlement.
Maria disappeared after completing an internship she had in Carovigno. Her personal belongings remained in the room, including documents and notes with contacts. She went to a deserted place near highway 379, where the tragedy occurred.
