Russian invaders tried to regain lost ground in the Zaporizhzhia sector, but to no avail, states the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Russian attacks
The enemy launched three missiles and 15 air strikes and fired 18 MLRS at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
Situation at the frontline
The situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult. There were 69 combat engagements over the last day.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were detected. Designated units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted an air strike near Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region. About 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Kostobobriv and Prohres in Chernihiv region; Yunakivka, Grabovske, and Luhivka in Sumy region; and Udy, Veterinarne, and Stohnii in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy conducted assault operations in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region, where the defense forces repelled 7 attacks. The enemy launched an air strike near Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region.
About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Serebryanske forestry in the Luhansk region, where the defense forces repelled three attacks. About 10 settlements suffered from enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted assault operations in the areas of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the defense forces repelled 15 attacks. About 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and New York in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, south of Tonenke and Pervomayske in Donetsk region, where the defense forces repelled 20 attacks. About 10 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Severne, Stepove, Avdiivka, Karlivka, Pervomayske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the defense forces repelled 9 attacks. The enemy launched an air strike in the area of Pobeda, Donetsk region. Such settlements of the Donetsk region as Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas southeast of Vuhledar and west of Staromayorsk in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to regain lost ground 8 times in the areas south of Robotyne, west and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Huliaypole, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson sector, the city of Kherson in the Kherson region and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region came under enemy artillery fire.
Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive
Defense forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region. They continue to inflict fire on the enemy.
Russian losses
Over the day, missile troops destroyed four enemy artillery units.
Also, the Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed one X-59 guided missile.
