Short film about war in Ukraine wins BAFTA award

The Royal Festival Hall in London hosts the prestigious British BAFTA Awards ceremony. The award went to the short film "Rock, Paper, Scissors", starring Ukrainian actors Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Serhiy Kalantai, Yuriy Radionov, and Oleksandr Yatsenko, Variety reports.
The film about the war in Ukraine won the Best British Short Film nomination.
The 20-minute film, based on real-life events, is about Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

What the movie "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is about
The film is based on real events and covers Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The story centers on 18-year-old Ivan, whose father has been working as a surgeon since the first days of the war. When the Russian occupiers find out about the shelter where the wounded are kept, the boy is forced to take up arms to protect his family and those in need.
The film was directed by Franz Boehm, a 26-year-old British man of German descent, and cinematography was handled by Hsien Yu Niu, a native of Taiwan who lives in London.
The main role of Ivan was played by Oleksandr Rudynskyi, and his father was played by Serhiy Kalantai.
The film also stars Ukrainian actor Yuriy Radionov and Oleksandr Yatsenko, who previously took part in the Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov's production Viy.
