Ukrainian athlete Alisa Pilishenko has set an incredible achievement and become another record holder in the Guinness World Records. The young woman practices figure skating, and her record is connected to skates. Here is what record the Ukrainian figure skater set, and what is known about her.

Alisa Pilishenko from Kharkiv set an unusual record for the number of spins on stilt skates. She performed in Kyiv and completed 34 rotations in 30 seconds.

Stilt skates are a special metal device that allows figure skaters to spin at a height of 50 centimeters and consist of a pole and a foot platform.

Pilishenko explained that the Russians destroyed all the ice rinks in Kharkiv, so she had to train at a gym to prepare. Sometimes she travels to Kyiv or Dnipro for her skating training.

"Many things seem impossible until you do them," says Alisa Pilishenko.

Alisa began figure skating at the age of 4, and she first tried stilt skates in 2019.

Before the competition, the figure skater had only a few hours to practice on the ice

Alisa admits that sport is her passion.

"I don't have any philosophy, I just enjoy the process. I really like challenges. I like the preparation process. It's always very exciting... It's so incredible. I can't believe it," the athlete said after setting the record.
