Shaheds and S-300 missiles: Air Force details night attack
Tonight, the enemy launched an attack on Ukraine using 7 Shahed-136/131 strike drones. They also employed the S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force.
"On the night of January 20, 2024, occupiers launched an attack using 7 Shahed-136/131 strike drones from the area of the Russian-controlled Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and three S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region towards Donetsk region," the press service reports.
Mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces destroyed 4 drones, while the remaining 3 failed to reach their targets.
The anti-air defense was active within the boundaries of the:
- Odessa,
- Mykolaiv,
- Cherkasy,
- and Khmelnytskyi regions.
Attack on Ukraine on the night of January 20
Late in the evening on January 19, terrorists launched several groups of kamikaze drones of the Shahed type. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the drones were launched from the southern direction and were mainly detected in the southern and central regions of the country.
In the morning, the Defense Forces of the South reported that two drones had been destroyed in their responsibility zone: one in the Mykolaiv region and the other in the Odessa region.
