Shahed drones and missiles: Zelenskyy reveals scale of Russian air strikes in one week
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia carried out hundreds of airstrikes on Ukraine over the past week, using bombs, missiles, and drones.
According to the head of state, Russia has delivered more than 900 bomb strikes across various regions of Ukraine in the past week, launched around 30 missiles, and deployed almost 500 Shahed drones. Most of these attacks were directed at civilian sites and critical infrastructure.
"And not just most of them — all these attacks would have been impossible if we had sufficient support from the world on obvious things," the president noted.
Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's need for more long-range capabilities and the importance of tightening sanctions against Russia. This would prevent Russia from importing critical components for drone and missile production, specifically microelectronics.
"Ukraine deserves the same reliable security as all our other partners in the free world," Zelenskyy added.
Night attack by Russia
On the night of November 3, Russia launched 96 drones and an Kh-59/69 missile at Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed the missile and 66 drones. Air defense operated in the Kyiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions.
Another 27 drones went unaccounted for, and one flew toward Belarus.
In Kyiv, drone debris fell in three districts. Debris also caused damage in the Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
Additionally, Russian drones attacked Shostka in the Sumy region, sparking a fire and damaging infrastructure facilities.
