In Denmark, reservists were urgently called up for service on Sunday, September 28. This decision was made due to drones in Danish airspace, according to TV2.

According to sources cited by the news agency, "several hundred" reservists were called up for service. The summons explicitly states that the decision was made due to incidents involving unidentified drones. Soldiers were instructed to report as quickly as possible.

The outlet’s interlocutors added that the call-up of reservists was carried out to prepare for their possible deployment within Denmark.

TV2 noted that such urgent call-ups are highly unusual for Denmark.

There is no official data on the total number of reservists in the Danish army, but in 2013, the Danish Reserve Personnel Organization estimated their number at 3,000.

Jesper Schneider, head of the Danish Reserve Personnel Organization, declined to comment on when the last urgent call-up took place. He noted that reservists are regularly called up both for training and to carry out operational tasks.

Drones over Denmark

On the night of September 27, unidentified drones were detected over Denmark.

This is not the first such incident recently — unidentified drones were also spotted over Denmark on September 25.

The incident occurred a few weeks after Russian attack drones violated Polish airspace.
