Explosions were heard in Kharkiv on the evening of March 26 as Russian forces attacked the city with Shahed strike drones, according to the Telegram channel of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

According to Terekhov, a series of explosions were heard in Kharkiv. Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned of enemy strike drones approaching the city from the north.

"An impact was recorded, preliminarily, in the Kyivskyi district. Enemy UAVs are still in the sky over the city. Stay cautious," the mayor reported.

Terekhov added that the latest strike likely hit near a multi-story residential building. Information on casualties and damage is being clarified.

Kharkiv’s mayor reported that drone attacks damaged multi-story residential buildings in the city. According to preliminary information, a civilian infrastructure facility was also affected.

According to the head of Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, a 12-year-old girl was injured in the strike on Kharkiv. She has been hospitalized.

Ukraine under attack on March 26

In the early hours of March 26, Russia launched 117 drones at Ukraine, attacking from four directions.

Air defense forces managed to shoot down 56 Shahed and other types of UAVs over the south, north, east, and central regions of the country. Additionally, 48 drones were lost by location tracking without causing damage.

The strikes affected Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Cherkasy regions.
