Russia launches nearly 120 drones overnight: Air defense responds

On the night of March 26, Russia launched 117 drones against Ukraine. Enemy UAVs attacked from four directions, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
During the strike, Russians launched the drones from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
To repel the attack, the following forces were engaged:
- Aviation
- Anti-aircraft missile forces
- Electronic warfare units
- Mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine
As of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, 56 Shahed-type drones and other UAVs were confirmed shot down over the south, north, east, and center of the country. In addition, 48 drones were lost from radar without causing any negative consequences.
Due to the attack, the following regions were affected:
- Sumy
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Kirovohrad
- Cherkasy
Russian attacks on Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has regularly targeted Ukraine’s critical and civilian infrastructure. The enemy uses various types of missiles, drones, artillery, and guided aerial bombs for strikes. Nighttime drone attacks occur daily. For instance, on the night of March 25, terrorists launched 139 drones, of which air defense forces shot down 78.
