Serbian Parliament dismisses the government

The Serbian parliament dismissed the government after student protests caused by the collapse of the roof at the Novi Sad train station, according to N1.
A 30-day period for the formation of a new government is now starting. If a new government is not elected, parliamentary elections will be held in Serbia.
N1 notes that the government of Miloš Vučević was elected on May 2, 2024. The Prime Minister, in turn, announced his resignation on January 28 amid student protests.

The protests were triggered by the collapse of the roof of the Novi Sad railway station in November 2024. The tragedy, which killed 15 people, caused a wave of discontent due to alleged corruption and negligence in the government of President Aleksandar Vučić.
In late January, Miloš Vučević admitted the possibility of holding early parliamentary elections in April. In March, he declared his readiness to hold elections if the opposition demanded it.
Also recently, members of the ruling and opposition factions got into a fight in parliament.
