Security Service uncovers Ukrainian company selling tactical medical supplies to Russia
A Ukrainian company has been exposed for wholesale supplies of tactical medical supplies to Russia. Russian military personnel were receiving these products, according to the Security Service of Ukraine on Telegram.
According to information from an RBC-Ukraine source within law enforcement agencies, it concerns the company Kyivguma.
Based on the case materials, during 2022-2023, the company sent several batches of tactical tourniquets and bandages of its own production to Russia. Their total value was around 40 million hryvnias.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) clarifies that the products were supplied through one of the European countries. The company's owner there established a controlled firm, which ordered goods for sale in the EU. However, after receiving the goods, they were sent to Russia.
In Russia, the tactical medical equipment was transferred to companies under sanctions, supplying ammunition to the Russian military.
"Subsequently, the products reached the individual medical kits of the aggressors fighting against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Occupiers also directed medical supplies to Russian military hospitals in the temporarily occupied regions of our country," added the SSU.
To disguise such trade with Russia, the company owner promoted his image as a volunteer and claimed to be providing medical supplies to Ukrainian defenders.
The suspect has been notified of the charges and faces up to 12 years in prison. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of arrest is being resolved.
