Secret visit: Angelina Jolie crosses into Ukraine on foot, media uncovers details

Actress and UN goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie visited Ukraine for the second time since 2022. The global star crossed the border on foot during her unexpected visit, which was unknown to anyone in the Ukrainian authorities, Politico informs.
A senior Ukrainian official told the outlet that Jolie did not inform the government of her intention to visit the country. According to him, she crossed into Ukraine on foot.
This was her second visit to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Previously, she visited the city of Lviv.
The official noted that a member of the group accompanying Jolie had an incident with representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TTsK), though it is not yet clear exactly what happened.
In response to Politico, representatives of the Ukrainian Ground Forces said they "cannot confirm or deny the details of what happened." At the same time, they stated that the information circulating in the media "is distorted." A representative of Jolie declined to provide an official comment.
Jolie visited Kherson, where she toured local medical facilities, including a maternity hospital and a children’s hospital.
The UN goodwill ambassador paid special attention to the young patients at the children’s hospital. She also inspected the conditions for patients, spoke with medical staff, and met with mothers staying in the maternity ward.
It was reported on social media that one of Jolie’s drivers was allegedly detained by the Territorial Recruitment Center (TTsK) staff in the Mykolaiv region.
According to reports, his documents were checked at a checkpoint, after which he was taken to the TTsK. He was allegedly held for an extended period, prompting intervention from representatives of the President’s Office.
Eventually, Jolie herself arrived at the TTsK, after which the detained driver was released.
