Rescuers have completed search and emergency rescue operations in the city of Zaporizhzhia, which was struck by an attack from Russia. One person is reported dead, and 18 others are injured, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to rescuers, as of 4:00 PM (Kyiv time), it is known that one person has died, and 18 individuals have been injured, including a 12-year-old child. Two more people were rescued by emergency workers.

Additionally, psychologists from the State Emergency Service assisted 28 victims.

"The rescuers inspected the apartments in the building and evacuated residents. Firefighters extinguished several fires in other areas affected by airstrikes in one of the city districts," the report stated.

What preceded this

This morning, Russian forces launched a series of strikes on residential neighborhoods and infrastructure facilities in Zaporizhzhia.

According to preliminary reports, Russia shelled the city with aerial bombs.

Shelling of Zaporizhzhia

Recently, the Russian army has begun conducting regular strikes on the city of Zaporizhzhia. Specifically, for the first time, Russian forces used aerial bombs to strike Zaporizhzhia on the night of September 23.

Additionally, early in the morning on September 29, Zaporizhzhia was attacked with KABs (guided aerial bombs). Russia reportedly used about 13 aerial bombs, causing destruction in three districts of the city.
