The search for a Russian aircraft that flew into Poland during Russia's massive hybrid attack on Ukraine has been going on for three days, according to RMF24

Tuesday marked the second day of the search for the Russian object that entered Polish territory on Monday morning and disappeared from radar.

Yesterday, more than a hundred Polish army soldiers combed the fields and groves of Antoniówka in Komarów-Osada commune, a few kilometers from Tyszowiec, where the search began, and managed to inspect eight hundred hectares of land.

On August 27, the Polish army searched for the site closer to Zamość. According to the spokesperson for the Armed Forces Operational Command, Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski, this decision was to be made after analyzing radar records and assessing the possible flight path of the object.

The search for the object was scheduled to resume today. The direction of further actions depended, in particular, on reports from residents. However, as the spokesperson for the Polish Armed Forces separately noted, the army has not yet received any such evidence.

Background

During the massive Russian attack against Ukraine using attack drones and cruise missiles, the operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces announced that a Russian object had penetrated the territory of Poland.

Later, Poland said that the ‘object that flew into its territory during the massive Russian attack against Ukraine using attack drones was most likely a Russian drone. The search for it is ongoing.

This is not the first time that Russian objects have fallen on the territory of a NATO country. In the past, Polish citizens have even died as a result of the fall of one of these objects. However, neither Poland nor NATO, apart from sending up fighter jets during Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory, take any action in response to such incidents.

The Romanian authorities, whose territory has also been hit by Russian weapons, behave similarly.
