About 'Scream 7'
In the seventh installment, Sidney tries to leave the horrors of her past behind and build a peaceful family life with her husband, Mark, and their children.
However, everything changes when a new Ghostface killer appears. This time, Sidney's eldest daughter, Tatum (Isabel May), becomes the killer's main target.
Sidney is forced to face danger once again to protect her family. Journalist Gale Weathers, played by Courteney Cox, comes to her aid.
"Scream 7" was released in 2025 and set a franchise record for opening-weekend box office earnings, taking in $97.2 million worldwide.
The film grossed $208 million on a $45 million budget, making it the highest-grossing installment in the series.
Following this success, Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures began developing an eighth film. However, they have not yet revealed plot details.
Campbell has played Sidney Prescott in six films in the franchise. In 2023, the actress did not appear in the sixth installment due to a pay dispute.
In 2022, she explained that the amount offered did not reflect her contribution to the franchise's success.
