Scrambled eggs are one of the simplest breakfast dishes. To make scrambled eggs "perfect", without burnt edges and with a beautiful white yolk, it is enough to add one ingredient that everyone has at home, states Daily Express.

What to add to scrambled eggs for the perfect result

Eggs are one of the most versatile foods, whether on toast or scrambled for breakfast, and can be the finishing touch to a plate of ramen for dinner or a sandwich for lunch. But it's not always easy to make the perfect omelette.

Regardless of which method you prefer, it can be challenging to achieve a perfectly cooked white with a runny yolk.

Often, after cooking, the white becomes "rubbery", the edges of the dish are burnt, and a terrible film forms on the surface because the lower part of the egg is cooked and the upper part is not. Of course, you can try to turn the egg over, but the yolk may break in the process.

But according to one food blogger, there's an easy way to make perfect scrambled eggs - and all you have to do is add one ingredient to the pan.

Lindsay posted a video on TikTok in which she explained how to cook eggs without overcooking or burning the dish. The blogger clarifies that the method is not her own - it has been around for years, but since many people don't know about it, Lindsay wants to share her life hack with the world.

All you have to do is crack the eggs into an oil-free frying pan and add a "drop of water". Then simply cover the pan with a lid and leave the eggs to cook.

This method prevents the edges of the whites from burning, and the lid helps trap the steam to cook the eggs evenly on top and bottom - meaning you won't have any slimy mess and the yolk will be perfectly runny.

How to fry eggs with water

Heat a nonstick frying pan over medium heat for a minute. Pour about 2-3 tablespoons of water into the pan. There should be enough liquid to cover the bottom of the pan, but not a thick layer.

Crack the egg into the pan. The water will start steaming almost immediately, so put a lid on the pan to help keep the steam that cooks the egg in.

Cook the eggs for about 2-4 minutes, depending on how you want the yolk to be cooked. To keep the yolk runny, cook the eggs for about 2 minutes; to keep the yolk firm, cook the eggs longer.

When the white is set and no longer transparent, and the yolk is cooked to the desired consistency, you can transfer the eggs from the pan to a plate, adding salt and pepper to taste.
