Schools in occupied Mariupol to produce drones for war - NRC
Russian forces continue to militarize Ukrainian children. This time, schoolchildren in occupied areas will be making drones for the needs of the Russian army, according to the National Resistance Center (NRC).
Specifically, students at the 47th school in temporarily occupied Mariupol will be designing and manufacturing drones for the occupiers. For this purpose, the enemy has opened a specialized engineering class with an aviation focus.
According to the NRC, these actions are part of a program implemented by Russian President Vladimir Putin called education.
"A whole generation of Ukrainian youth is witnessing militarization, creating the illusion that the war waged by Putin's Russia on our land is a normal phenomenon. But this is not just an illusion. Children are being actively drawn into the war," the statement says.
What preceded this
The information resource noted that this is not the first instance where Russians involve children in the occupation in the production of weapons that subsequently kill Ukrainians and destroy Ukrainian cities.
A few weeks ago, it became known that the Kremlin issued textbooks on unmanned aerial systems and provided them to schools in the occupied territories of Ukraine. These books contain information on the classification and structure of drones, the basics of manual piloting, and construction, and the applications of UAVs, including military use.
The NRC also reminded at that time that each region of Russia, including the occupied territories, is set to receive about 301 million rubles for the procurement of equipment for lessons on the development, production, and operation of FPV drones.
