Saudi Arabia strikes Iran

According to Reuters, Saudi Arabia conducted several undeclared attacks on Iranian territory in response to previous strikes that had targeted facilities in the kingdom during the conflict in the Middle East.

Sources claim the strikes were carried out by Saudi aircraft at the end of March. One Western official described them as an eye for an eye retaliation.

The specific targets of the attacks have not been officially disclosed. Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry did not directly confirm the strikes, and the Iranian side declined to comment.

Conflict is spreading beyond Iran and Israel

It is reported that after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, Tehran began attacking countries in the Persian Gulf. Targets hit included American bases, airports, oil infrastructure facilities, and civilian sites.

In addition, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz, affecting global trade and increasing tensions in the region.

According to media reports, the United Arab Emirates has also joined military actions against Iran, taking a tougher stance toward Tehran.

Riyadh has bet on de-escalation

Despite the exchange of strikes, Saudi Arabia simultaneously continued diplomatic contacts with Iran.

Sources claim that after the series of attacks, negotiations began between the parties to reduce tensions.

Saudi representatives stated that they advocate restraint and de-escalation for the sake of regional stability.

One Iranian official confirmed that there is an informal understanding between Tehran and Riyadh aimed at preventing further expansion of the conflict in the Middle East.

For reference, a possible meeting between US and Iranian representatives is expected soon in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, where the parties may seek to resume peace negotiations.

Amid deteriorating relations with the US and the collapse of peace talks, Iran has announced the deployment of small submarines in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.
