Satellite image shows Ukrainian strike on Kotluban arsenal in Russia
In the night of September 29, the Kotluban arsenal in Russia's Volgograd region was attacked. A recent satellite image of the military facility after the strikes has surfaced online, reports Radio Free Europe's Telegram channel.
The morning satellite image shows the aftermath of a large fire near the Russian arsenal.
"As seen in the satellite image from September 29, a fire broke out near the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate arsenal after an attack by Ukrainian drones," the report stated.
However, there were likely no direct hits on the arsenal itself.
General Staff statement
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the overnight attack earlier today. According to their information, a train carrying Iranian missiles had arrived at the arsenal just before the strike.
The General Staff noted that the Kotluban arsenal had dense coverage from electronic warfare and air defense systems, yet Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully completed the mission. According to their report, the military facility experienced a fire and ammunition detonations.
According to RBC-Ukraine, citing sources in Ukrainian intelligence, the arsenal was attacked around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. The strike involved 120 Ukrainian-made drones, targeting a location over 600 km away.
