Satellite image shows Rostov oil depot after 16-day blaze
In Proletarsk, Rostov Region, the fire at the oil depot that lasted for more than two weeks has been extinguished. A satellite image has emerged, according to Radio Liberty on Telegram.
The publication compared satellite images taken before the strike (August 16) and after the fire was extinguished (September 2).
It can be observed that numerous tanks were severely burned in the fire.
According to journalists, over 30 tanks were damaged, each holding up to 500 cubic meters of fuel.
Local authorities report that 49 firefighters were injured during the firefighting efforts.
Background
On the night of August 18, the Russians reported that drones attacked the oil depot in Proletarsk, causing a fire.
Sources from RBC-Ukraine indicated that the attack was part of an operation by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate. The target was the oil depot FGKU Kombinat Kavkaz.
This oil depot supplied Russian occupiers fighting against Ukraine.
RBC-Ukraine's sources clarified that the depot was attacked using Ukrainian-made kamikaze drones.
